Chickens of the Cayman

This page is devoted to the fabulous feral chickens of Grand Cayman. They are everywhere, they come in a myriad of colours and sizes and their crowing provides the background music to my week.

These handsome fellows were at Hurleys.

Hooligan chickens kicking over furniture and hanging out menicingly at the park..

Here you can see a Caymanian Standoff the Chickens verses the Iguanas in a turf war! It was really tense, we scarpered out of there quick, you don’t want to get caught between these two rival factions.

We went to ‘The Duck Pond’ today, it’s a pond and there are two or three ducks. There are about 1000 chickens, iguanas and turtles, a lovely little spot.

We found this fellow on the road past Eastend. The place where the sun comes up!
